After Effects Error: Can’t Copy and Paste Text (August 2021)

Change the way you open up your After Effects file. Do not open by double-clicking the project file OR right-clicking the project file and clicking Open. INSTEAD – Open up the After Effects program first, and then open up your project file from there. Adobe is currently working on this problem, and this will hopefully be fixed in the next update.

Can’t copy and paste text in After Effects?
Here’s the solution:
Change the way you open up your After Effects file. Do not open by double-clicking the project file OR right-clicking the project file and clicking Open. INSTEAD – Open up the After Effects program first, and then open up your project file from there. Adobe is currently working on this problem, and this will hopefully be fixed in the next update.
