Convection Ovens VS. Conventional Ovens
Understanding the difference between convection and conventional ovens will help you choose the right oven for you and even change the way you cook. The main difference between the two appliance is how heat is dispersed in each type of oven.
Convection Ovens
Convection Ovens can be gas or electric. This appliance has a strong fan and exhaust system, which circulates heat within the oven to maintain a steady temperature. This characteristic makes convection ovens ideal for multi-rich cooking. In general, convection ovens are better at heating your food evenly. Less rotating is involved when cooking, and you have the flexibility to cook multiple dishes at once.
Conventional Ovens
Conventional Ovens are considered to be the “traditional oven”. This appliance heats from the bottom and/or top of the oven, and it is often that the dish closest to the heating element cooks faster. One of the benefits of this appliance is that most recipes are written for conventional ovens, and people often feel more comfortable cooking with them because they are more commonly used.
If you are having trouble deciding between the two, you can find many oven types that are a hybrid of both options. For more information about ovens, check out the appliance helper website.
