First Tesla Model Ys Arrive in Dubai
Tesla appears ready to begin the first Model Y deliveries in the United Arab Emirates in the next few weeks.
The automaker opened up its order books for the electric SUV in September 2021, offering only the Long Range variant at a price of $81,100 CDN.
The Design Studio estimated the first deliveries would begin in "early 2022", and it looks like they are right on schedule.
According to Tesla ship tracker Morten Grove, Daedalus Leader arrived in Dubai’s Jebel Ali port on January 22, 2022 with a load of Model Ys.
The news was confirmed by a reservation holder who was told his electric SUV had arrived and been unloaded from the ship.
Grove says the ship likely also had Model 3s on board, but that was unconfirmed.
Tesla currently has a network of 5 Superchargers in the country, with another 4 planned to open before the end of Q1 2022.
