At Holt Flood insurance, we quote flood zone rates when giving our customers an estimate on the cost of flood insurance. We also inform our customers that flood insurance is mandatory for high-risk areas. Areas at a higher risk for flooding will pay more than low to moderate risk.

While it's only mandatory for high-risk areas to have flood insurance, we strongly encourage everyone to purchase it regardless of risk, as flooding can happen anytime. You can buy flood insurance through the NFIP or a private company. Renters also qualify for flood insurance and will pay a little less as they only need content insurance.

Regarding flood zone rates on the flood map, areas A and V are high-risk. While B, C and X flood areas have a low to moderate flood risk. For A and V areas, annual flood rates can average around $900. The low to moderate areas will pay about $500 a year. The NFIP does offer more affordable rates than private insurance. However, you may not get the coverage you need. With over 30 years of flood insurance experience, we can help you find an insurance rate that works for you, whether you are new to flood insurance or looking for a more reasonable rate.
