help me please my condenser fan is not spinning i’ve changed the fan motor
Condenser fan not spinning I’ve changed the fan motor, contactor, 5-2-1 relay, and the capacitor, also put fresh fuses on the connection portion.
Question from user Timely_Subject4773 at hvacadvice at reddit.com.
Answer:
If you have changed the fan motor and the condenser fan is still not spinning, there are a few things you can check to troubleshoot the issue:
Check the Capacitor: The capacitor is a small electrical component that provides the initial electrical charge to start the motor. If the capacitor is faulty, the motor may not start. You can use a multimeter to test the capacitor's electrical charge and replace it if it's faulty.
Check the Wiring: Make sure all the wiring connections are secure and free from damage. Loose or damaged wiring can prevent the motor from receiving power and starting.
Check the Control Board: The control board is responsible for sending power to the fan motor. If the control board is faulty, it may not send power to the motor, preventing it from starting. You may need to replace the control board if it's faulty.
Check the Fan Blade: Make sure the fan blade is not obstructed and can move freely. A blocked or obstructed fan blade can prevent the motor from starting.
If none of these solutions work, you may need to contact a licensed HVAC technician to troubleshoot and repair the issue. They will have the necessary tools and experience to diagnose the problem and recommend a solution.
