Such as buying energy-efficient appliances and using energy-efficient lighting.  Donations: If you have made any donations during the tax year, you may be entitled to earning some of what you donated back. What you earn back depends on the type of donation you gave, such as cash, non-cash, or vehicles. 

For a non-cash donation, you could get back the value of what the item was worth. To receive this credit, you should always keep a record of any contributions you have made.
