So couple of things, had propane guy over the other day doing safety check. Upgrade 1/2 lb reg in side of house to 2 lb, have separate 1/2 lb in basement. Just used oven for first time yesterday and today wife said that she couldn't get the oven to heat up. Stove works just fine so gas is flowing.

Got down to see if heating element was working, yup it is but no flow of gas to oven. Looked up and saw this crap all over the bottom.

Seems to me like the propane isn't burning clean (this isn't food matter). Could this be caused if the assholes that sold the place didn't put in a valve for propane? Would there be other signs (I don't have an unusually high flame on stove burners) but have been seeing some carbon build up on back of stove where heat from oven vents.

Is the NAT on valve a clear indication this was never converted or like a dryer is there just a smaller valve inside of this unit?

Cleaned the carbon off the bottom, is there some kind of flame sensor in the oven that would prevent it from lighting if it was dirty, didn't see one like on a water heater.

Thanks.

Answer:

It may be the wrong orifice.

It may be a closed air shutter on the burner.

It may be a plugged burner exhaust path (oven mitt, sponge, towel etc).

It could also be a newly failed equipment regulator. Or even a missing equipment regulator. Or a combination of issues .

That much soot takes at least a week to build up.
