Tesla 2022.4.5.4 Update
Posted On: February 27, 2022

The day Canadians have been waiting for since October 2020 has finally arrived. Tesla has started deploying the 2022.4.5.4 software update which finally brings Full Self-Driving Beta to Canada.

The update first started rolling out last night, with Drive Tesla reader Steven Elliott being one of the first to receive it, while reading our article on the impending launch of Safety Score.

Once downloaded, the release notes indicate the "Request Full-Self Driving Beta" button is now available on the Autopilot settings page.

After reading the usual disclaimer and accepting the disclaimer, you are enrolled in the FSD Beta queue and activates the Safety Score in your mobile app.

If the rollout follows the same pattern as when the Beta program expanded to the U.S. you will have to achieve a perfect 100 Safety Score over the next 7 days before being allowed to download the software.

The other implication of FSD Beta being rolled out in Canada is that the price of FSD should be increasing very soon. When FSD Beta was released in the U.S, the price of FSD increased by $2000 just over one week later.

My Take: I hope I can get my safety score to 100%.
