The Real Life, Real Hope Podcast – Foster Care Episode
WINDSOR, Conn. – Behavioral healthcare provider Community Health Resources (CHR) recently published the latest episode of The Real Life, Real Hope Podcast. In episode seven titled “Transforming Lives: The Journey of Foster Care,” CHR’s Nicole Crenshaw and Annelyse Cyr from the Functional Family Therapy-Foster Care (FFT-FC) program discuss the many ways foster care can transform the lives of children and teens, as well as the critical need for foster homes for teens.
CHR’s FFT-FC program provides support to families fostering youth with emotional or behavioral problems, helping to build safe and loving homes. CHR helps families develop specialized plans detailing long-term and short-term goals for each youth’s emotional, physical, developmental, and educational needs. The interview highlights the 24/7 support the program provides for parents and teens, including personalized family therapy and other effective tools.
“There’s a need nationwide for foster parents. I tell people to go into this with the intention of helping one child and we’ll support you every step of the way,” said Nicole Crenshaw, Family Recruitment Supervisor.
