What is the Difference Between a Vented Dryer and a Condenser Dryer?
If you are looking to buy a new dryer, you may be wondering: what’s the difference between a vented dryer and a condenser dryer? Well, the main difference between the two dryers is how they remove water from the machine.
Vented Dryers
Vented dryers are considered to be the most common appliance out of the two. These appliances feature a long, flexible hose that connects to the dryer and vents water to the outside of your home. Water and moisture are removed through a hose, which means it needs to be installed close enough to an external wall or window to reach outside.
Condenser Dryers
Condenser dryers operate slightly differently. This appliance collects moisture from your clothes into a container which is located within the dryer. This tank collects water, and when full, it needs to be emptied.
Which Dryer is Best for Me?
Condenser dryers can be placed anywhere inside your home, as it does not require a hose to remove the water. This is extremely beneficial if you need a dryer but don’t have space in a room without windows. On the other hand, a vented dryer may be the best fit for you if you have space near a wall or window. They also cost less than condenser dryers.
