Where Is The Best Place To Find Compact Fridges?
Posted On: August 14, 2023

So I live with my 95 year old grandfather (I take care of him as he is slowly going blind, has had some falls, etc.

).

Well I noticed a fridge he has had for years (let's just say I'm 34 and he's had that fridge since I was at least 5 if not younger).

And well his fridge is starting to make some weird noises and I think it's signaling it's end of life.

Now grandpa doesn't want to replace the fridge until it breaks.

But I don't want to wait for that and end up loosing all the food inside.

So I want to buy him one.

But the problem is the kitchen is very very tiny.

And the highest point I can have for the fridge is 65" tall.

As there are cabinets above the fridge.

I suggested to my Dad maybe taking out the cabinets.

But he doesn't want to do that.

As grandpa "needs the space".

But no not really.

The stuff in that cabinet above the fridge is all dusty and hasn't been touched in years.

But whatever.

All the compact fridges I'm finding on sites like Home Depot, Best Buy, etc.

Are all at least 66" tall and then some.

But I can't go any higher than 65".

I would also like to get a fridge with a mini freezer attached and a water and ice dispenser.

Although the water and ice dispenser isn't 100% needed.

Question from user SymphonicFlames at Appliances at reddit.

Answer:

Lowes should have a bunch on the floor you can look at.

A top freezer wont have the dispenser, but should be the most reliable and will fit in the space.

Avoid LG and Samsung.

Whirlpool or GE is fine.
