goodman furnace goes out when blower kicks on
Posted On: March 2, 2023
As title states: furnace lights properly but as soon as the blower kicks on, the furnace turns off. Getting 3 flashes. (Pressure switch open). checked pressure switch no problem. Checks the rollout not tripped. However, I think I've diagnosed the problem but could use some insight.
I took the panel off and it seemed to run better. My thought is better airflow. What I believe corroborates my story is I checked the exhaust outside and it goes back into the intake (very bad I know.). I am not the installer. I'll be moving the exhaust tomorrow so i...[

Question from user gaislander at hvacadvice at reddit.com.
Answer:
This is right after my master bedroom, which is always hotter than the rest of the house with AC, and colder with heat. Four go to the master bathroom and two to the living room on the other side of the wall (facing left).
New home. They have come out several times and last time came out and updated the two master bedroom branch ducts (the two before this picture) from 6 to 7 which helped a bit, but not fully.
This is too many branches and too close to the end right? Will moving...[

You dont need a special air-cleaner unless you have allergies or something and even if you do, it wont do much without running the fan all the time.
The icomfort is expensive and for a 2-stage furnace with single stage a c, a 2-stage generic thermostat will do fine at a lower cost provided you have enough wires in the wall. the icomfort communicating stat is more beneficial on the more complex systems like modulating furnace and variable capacity inverter a c ...[

furnace burner not staying on after power outage
Posted On: February 25, 2023
Question from user PoliticalChess4 at hvacadvice at reddit.com.
Answer:
the small hose that travels from the draft inducer to the top of the drain trap should not be looped like that, and needs to be cut shorter. a little bit of water stuck in that tube will cause a e09 fault. also the furnace drain should be vented to help prevent this as well.

natural gas furnace help
Posted On: February 25, 2023
So full disclosure, I am an HVAC service tech. 6 years experience but always learning. My mom's trane natural gas furnace goes out. Getting error code that says out on retries. System cycles through its normal startup procedure, and gets to where the ignitor glows, control board clicks to send power to gas valve. Nothing happens. I disconnect the 2 leads and when disconnected, I have 27 volts across when the control board is energizing the gas valve. Ok, bad gas valve. I order new gas valve and replace. Same thing happens. I think, ok maybe bad...[

i am not crazy right
Posted On: February 20, 2023
i have this “extra” hole cut right out the panel, and one “extra” hole at the top next to the power. Both are pulling air in, i think the guy doing the install has no idea what he was doing. My house is full of dust more than it should be , im guessing these holes are pulling in all the garage air into my system and into my house. Am i crazy but that is not how these systems work the plans don't show ” extra” holes for pulling “extra” unfiltered air in system is carrier FSM2X2400A in vertical position with up flow.

coldest air conditioner
Posted On: February 18, 2023
I have a hard time sleeping if it doesn't feel like a freezer in my room. It's 26°f outside rn and I have my window open. I've found that my AC unit, only barely being able to chill the room to 61°f, doesn't do the trick. It might just be too small for the room but 61° still isn't cold enough for me. Is there any way to cool a room to maybe 40° without actually having to sleep in a refrigerator? Thanks.
